The Borgo

What exactly is Borgo Lucignanello?
Borgo Lucignanello Bandini is an accommodation with apartments in historic buildings inside the village of Lucignano d'Asso near Montalcino.
Is Lucignano d'Asso a private village?
No, it is a group of private buildings with a public road (with little traffic) running through it.
Are there shops in the Borgo?
In the Borgo, there is a small shop which sells local products, food, and personal care products. Adjacent, there is a wine bar which serves wine by the glass with cheese or charcuterie plates and other light dishes. These are both closed on Monday.
Is Lucignanello always staffed?
There is reception staff at the Borgo during office hours and a custodian present at night.
Is there a pool?
Yes, there is an infinity pool looking over the countryside which is only for the guests of the Borgo and open usually from May to October and a private pool for the guests of Casale Sarageto.
Is there a restaurant in the Borgo?
For a light snack, the wine bar serves cold dishes (charcuterie, cheeses, etc.). The closest restaurant is in San Giovanni d'Asso, about a five minute drive away. Upon arrival, all our guests are given a complete list of the restaurants in the area and our staff can always recommend specific eateries. You can also request a private chef who can deliver freshly cooked meals at lunch or dinner, or cook directly in your apartment.
Where can we have breakfast?
In your accommodation: you an either prepare it yourself or have it delivered to you at the time of your choosing.
When are check-in and check-out times?
Check-in begins at 3:00 p.m.; if you will be arriving after 6:00 p.m. or you are running late, we ask that you kindly advise us. Check-out is by 10:00 a.m.; for later departures, please speak with our reception staff.
Where is the nearest supermarket?
The nearest supermarket is in Torrenieri (open Monday to Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.).

Accommodations

What will I find in the accommodations?
Our accommodations come complete with bed and bath linens and kitchen suppies. There are also some pantry basics (bread, olive oil, sugar, salt, etc.), our organic olive oil, two bottles of wine, and breakfast supplies, all of which are helpful if you check-in after the local shops have closed. We also have a grocery shopping service available upon request, for which you can send us your shopping list a few days before arrival.
Is there a washing machine?
Only the Sarageto farmhouse has a washing machine; there is a laundry service or you can have an extra linen change upon request.
Can we order lunch or dinner?
There is a private chef service, which can deliver prepared meals for lunch or dinner or prepare them directly in your kitchen.
Is there air conditioning and heat?
Our accommodations stay quite cool and have ceiling fans. The master bedroom in Sarageto has an air conditioner. All our accommodations have heat and there is a fireplace in each which can be lit.

Surroundings

Is it easy to use public transport to get around the area?
Unfortunately, there is no public transportationto the Borgo. We encourage our guests to explore the surrounding area by car; if you'd rather not drive, we can organize a private driver for airport transfers or for daytrips in Tuscany (especially useful when visiting wineries, restaurants, and wine bars in the nearby towns).
How far away are the nearest restaurants?
The nearest restaurants are about 5 to 10 minutes away by car (in Torrenieri and San Giovanni d'Asso), and about 20 minutes away there are additional restaurants in Montalcino and Pienza. We provide a list of all the area restaurants to guests upon arrival, but if you'd like to start planning, you can download the list here.
Are there street markets in the area?
There are a number of weekly street markets in the area, open from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
